Xbox Games With Gold For January Announced
What Better Way To Start The New Year Than With Free Xbox Games!

With less than two weeks before the new year Microsoft has recently announced the first titles to be offered in 2016 as part of their Games with Gold program. You’ll be able to play both Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One with backwards compatibility. So without any further delay let’s take a look at the games Microsoft is giving gamers for free for January 2016!

Xbox One

Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition will be available for gamers to download on their Xbox One all month in addition to a playable version of the 1994 arcade classic Killer Instinc. Zheros will be free to download  from January 16 all the way through to February 15.

Xbox 360

On the Xbox 360 gamers will be able to download DiRT: Showdown from January 1st through the 15th. Then on the 16th of January through the end of the month Xbox Live Gold Members can download Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

All and all this isn’t the most terrible start for the new year but I think Microsoft could’ve potentially given Xbox Live Gold Members a little more bang for their buck. Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining about getting free games, not in the least, I just would like to see some more “stand out” titles become available. I would even be happy with Microsoft giving away games that have cult followings such as Dark Void, Lollipop Chainsaw, Bionic Commando and Dark Sector.

All future offerings of Xbox 360 titles will be available for Xbox One owners to download since future 360 titles will all be backwards compatible. So what do you guys think of the free games Microsoft is offering with their Games With Gold for January? Do you feel a little underwhelmed with the games that were announced. Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
